ENGINE:
  • Know plug quantaties and locations.
  • Check hoses and know what to look for.
  • Test fire boat while boat is on trailer at ramp.
  • Don't run boat out of the water.
  • Run blower for recommended time prior to starting the engine.
  • Check bilge pump operation.
  • Check all fluid levels prior to using boat.
DASH:
  • Know switch functions, and test.
  • Know locations for all switches:
                -Blower
                -Bilge pump
                -Cruise Control/Perfect Pass
                -Breaker panel
                -Stereo
                -Horn location and operation
 
THROTTLE ARM:
  • Forward
  • Reverse
  • Neutral
  • Transmission disengage
STARTING THE BOAT:
  • Check all boat hull plugs prior to launching boat!
  • Run blower for recommended time prior to starting the engine.
  • Turn key on and wait for 5 seconds minimum before starting.
TRAILER:
  • Check coupler and function.
  • Check safety pin.
  • Always use safety cables
  • Check electrical hook up (check brakes and signal lights)
  • Check safety brake release.
  • Know trailer manual brake lockout function.
  • Torque lug nuts to proper rating.
  • Check tire pressure.
  • Check transom tie downs.
  • Check Boat Buddy and operation.
  • Check bow safety cable.
  • Check trailer winch and operation.
  • Check and maintain trailer jack.
Note:  Lug nuts on the trailer should be RETORQUED after the first 25 miles and at 100 mile intervals until lug torque is maintained.  Also, when lake temperatures are cold, be aware that the lug nuts are prone to loosen.  RETORQUE OFTEN.
