Each year, we seem to spend more time in front of the computer screen using programs to stretch the possibilities of ski design. We change dimensions by the smallest of margins, creating lines which form animated skis that twist and turn on screen. The computer reflects surfaces and radii and exposes sexy new lines. Then we can run to our CNC Machine and cut those megabytes into an aluminum mold of reality. Technology is great isn’t it? But there will always be something that is more important than computer science. It’s how you feel once connected to the ski on the water. That’s something we can’t buy in a program. Your reaction to a new project is always the deciding factor on design modification. The Radar Lab is where we can bring both of these elements together in unison. When you walk out of our Barn, across the gravel road and just up the hill is a stretch of water sports’ most famous bodies water. The air is always fresh and full of innovation.
