Radar RS-1 Ski Binding (2008)
|
|
In the quest for better a set-up, we must first consider our connection
to the ski. This is arguably the most important part of any skier’s
equipment. More edge control is coveted while comfort and forgiveness
are expected. We set out to build a boot that would give the best in
both of these worlds. The basis of design is the Pro-Fit Chassis System
developed in our test lab. It's made from dense plastic that resembles
the foot bed of a hard boot. The chassis gives improved edge hold and
power through transition. The Synthetic outer shell and Intuition®
Liner combination offers the perfect amount of forgiveness. The foot is
comforted in a heat formable liner. This liner was developed over
hundreds of prototypes with Intuition® Sports Vancouver. It’s the first
memory foam liner to be built specifically for skiing. Radar builds ski
boots with its own “lasts” (the invaluable forms around which shoes are
made) specifically designed around the way a skier stands.
Our high end boot will redefine what you think of your connection to
the ski. A removable custom heat formed Intuition liner and Radar
insole secure the foot inside a closed toe shell. Variable support
panels control lateral stability from two independent locations. Double
boot setups have Bi-level cuff heights creating freedom of movement for
the back leg. | | | | | |
