Stand Up Paddle board Demos and Race This Friday and Saturday!

Come check out this fast emerging sport from Hawaii!
Join us at Big Soda Lake* on Friday July 8th from 3pm-7pm for demos and lessons.
Then again on Saturday July 9th for a Stand up paddle board race at 10:30am. Onsite (only) registration starts at 9:30am ($15 registration fee) with demos and lessons to follow at the end of the race until 3pm.

Free public demos will be held on both Friday and Saturday. Lessons will be available for an extra fee.

Stand up paddle boarding can be both a sport or a leisure activity with a great core work out. Unlike surfing, stand up paddle boarding is easy to learn and can be done on any body of water. Lakes, ponds, rivers and of course, riding waves in the ocean. Stand up paddle surfing/boarding has it's origins in ancient Hawaii and was also popular during surfing's golden age in the 1960's. Recently big surf legends Laird Hamilton, Dave Kalama and Brian Keaulana resurrected stand up paddling as a way to train while the surf was down. Come learn this fun, easy and fast growing activity!
