Aussie phenom speaks about his setup and hard-charging style.

What was it like collaborating with legendary shaper Jimmy Redmon for the first time?
It was a crazy experience. We started with a blank board and kept adding things. I would try out all kinds of different boards to figure out what I liked. Eventually, we got it together and it was the coolest feeling ever to see the finished product.
What is it about the shape that allows you to go from boat to boat and ride in all different kinds of conditions so well?
It definitely has a consistent pop and consistent smooth landings. Every time you hit the wake, no matter what, the board's popping the same and it doesn't matter what wake you're riding. It's good to know that you don't have to worry about missing your pop or sketching out on any landings.
And what about your boots?
The boots are definitely super comfortable, they are flexible, which I like because I can move around and grab the board a lot easier. As well as being flexible they have a lot of ankle support so it minimizes stress on my ankles and knees.
How would you explain your style and approach when you are riding at home?
At home, I'm just trying to do new tricks and push the sport a little bit. And then there's always sets where I just try to do different grabs and make my tricks look a little better and different than everyone else. But right now, I'm really pumped on how things are going. I'm just here trying to push the sport.
How far do you see yourself being able to push things? It seems like there is still a lot on the table for you if you want it.
There are a bunch of tricks I've been working on like wake-to-wake 12's and double flips wake-to-wake. So I've been trying those and trying to get 10's consistent and trying to push the contest scene at the same time.
