Malibu's Intuitive Engineering & Construction
Construction
The Malibu name on a boat denotes intuitive engineering and quality that stands the test of time. Yet after 25 years of tow boat production we still scrutinize every process in search of a better way. We listen to our engineers, our people out on the line, dealers taking delivery of the boats and especially the families on the lake every weekend. Their feedback makes us better; they are the reason we have cutting edge processes and tools in place today.
Mold Preparation
Our flawless exterior finish is achieved through careful mold preparation. An entire day is spent meticulously cleaning the mold, then hand applying four coats of wax. Hand applied tape lines are introduced only after the mold is deemed perfect.
Swivel-Head Pylon
Malibu's patented swivel-head pylon incorporates needle bearings in the head for a smooth pivoting motion, eliminating rope ratcheting for extended rope life and increased safety.
Gel Coat Application
Each Malibu begins with a meticulously sprayed 10-step ArmorCote gel coat process. It is then backed with an exclusive, pure vinyl ester barrier coat and 3 oz. skin coat prior to starting the complete hand laid fiberglass procedure. Additional steps provide increased protection, value and life for each Malibu boat.
Stainless Steel Components
Every Malibu boat shines with the use of high quality stainless steel components in every facet of production.
Electronic Throttle Control
Malibu employs Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) technology in every 2007 Malibu boat. Electronic Throttle Control eliminates cables and the associated binding, for extremely smooth throttle response.
Flooring System
Malibus composite Mantex flooring system, with a natural sound dampening quality, provides an indestructible foundation.
Malibu Sound Suppression Technology
Malibu Sound Suppression Technology, incorporated in hull laminates, plus our unitized hull and deck construction make our boats stronger and quieter. Procedures in the construction process assist to separate noise and passengers from one another.
