Absolute Power
Malibu’s close partnership with Indmar Marine Engines has resulted in
four high performance power plants and made the difference in 13 World
Records, 5 consecutive Boat of the Year awards and the No. 1 sales
ranking in the tow boat industry, world wide. And since responsibility
is an integral part of true power, Malibu and Indmar have introduced
the new Extreme Tuned Exhaust with Catalyst on the 2007 Monsoon 340.

The Monsoon
340 (340 HP) delivers out of the hole with 397 foot-pounds of torque.
This customized version of GM’s Vortec 5.7L is designed specifically
for Malibu’s performance hulls. The new Indmar ETX/CAT one-piece tuned
exhaust manifolds reduce Monsoon emissions to almost nothing. Add high
lift roller cam and free-breathing Vortec heads and this engine equals
one of the most powerful, dependable small blocks ever built.
The Hammerhead
383 (400 HP) is the most powerful 6.2L small-block V8 ever developed
for inboard use. Its aggressive new appearance matches its 400
horsepower and 420 foot-pounds of torque. Capped with Malibu’s
exclusive intake plenum, it sports Indmar’s high flow multi-port
induction system, GM’s Fast Burn aluminum heads and GM Performance-spec
cam with 1.5:1 roller rockers for less friction, more power.
The 496
cubic-inch Vortec 8100 (425 HP) offers up to 450 horse power and 525
foot-pounds of torque. 9.1:1 high-compression Vortec heads turn out
more usable power from every fuel charge. The MPFI aluminum intake
manifold bolsters cylinder-to-cylinder airflow distribution for
cleaner, more dependable combustion. Finely tuned plenum runners and
the coil-near-plug ignition system (distributor less) enhance low-end
torque and deliver awesome power.
THE CATALYST
Malibu is offering the Industrys first production-ready catalytic
converter system ETX/CAT (Extreme Tuned Exhaust with Catalyst), patent
pending, on the 5.7 Liter, Multi-port Fuel Injected, Monsoon 340. This
innovative technology developed by Indmar Marine Engines significantly
reduces exhaust emissions to less than 5 grams of combined hydrocarbons
(HC) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx). After extensive testing Indmar found
no measurable engine power loss thanks to ETX/CATs extreme tuned
manifold/catalyst design.
BREATHE EASY!
The Catalyst is a huge achievement in boater safety. The new ETX/CAT
exhaust system substantially reduces carbon monoxide (CO) gases in all
part-throttle operating modes. A slow, no-wake cruise back to the
marina is as relaxing as it should be thanks to the new Monsoon 340.
